The Royal Shakespeare Company, or RSC as it is known, is the resident theatre company in Stratford upon-Avon dedicated to the Bard himself. Based inside a large building sitting next to the river-Avon, it really is a sight to behold. Head inside to catch a play inside one of its theatres, grab a coffee in the Riverside café or buy some Bard-themed merchandise in the onsite shop. A great one for Shakespeare lovers.


You’d be M.A.D to pass up on this one! The M.A.D museum or The Mechanical Art and Design Museum for long is a unique and quirky attraction based in the centre of Stratford upon-Avon. If you’re not quite sure what mechanical art is all about, think of the machines and gizmos used in Wallace and Gromit, Scrapheap Challenge and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In a nutshell, mechanical art is usually beautifully crafted, moving sculptures either made to have an exaggerated purpose or made simply for the fun of it. There are many boat cruises that take you up the river Avon a provide a wonderful perspective of the town from the water. A fan of the finer things in life? Shakespeare’s Distillery, based on the outskirts of Stratford-upon Avon will certainly provide a botanical boost! Take a tour of the distillery to see how artisan gin and rum is made or book onto a gin-making experience to see if you can cobble up your own botanical brew – I hear you even get to do some tasting! Perhaps not one for the kiddies.


Escape Rooms really are all the rage at the moment, so why not try Stratford upon-Avon’s offering of puzzle solving fun at Escape Live? Immersive yourself in the world of witches and wizards in their “Chalice of Champions” game or try to find Shakespeare’s missing script before it’s too late in “Shakespeare’s Script”. Great for groups of friends, families and corporate team building events alike.


Situated in the centre of Stratford-upon Avon, Tudor World is great for history buffs.
